'Pravasi Prathibha Puraskaram' is a bouquet of Annual Awards in recognition of exemplary services or achievements by Non-Resident Keralites in various disciplines, across various countries, constituted by 'keralanewslive.com' - the global web for Non-Resident Keralite Community, in 2009, under the following rules and regulations:
  • The Awards shall be known as 'PRAVASI PRATHIBHA PURASKARAM'.
  • The Awards of honour shall be conferred on Non-Resident Keralites who have been living abroad for 3 years or more, for the significant achievement in their respective field of activity with emphasis on the contribution to society, in the following categories:
           
    a) BUSINESS (Large/Medium/Small Scale sectors) f) MEDIA (Print, Visual/Audio/Web)
    b) SOCIAL SERVICE g) BANKING/FINANCE/INSURANCE
    c) EDUCATION (Entrepreneurs/Teachers) h) INVENTORS
    d) HEALTHCARE (Entrepreneurs/Doctors/Nurses) i) NEW INITIATIVES
    e) LITERATURE (all streams)    
  • The initial selection will be done by country through online poll, to identify deserving candidates in the above said categories and will be conferred accordingly. The finalists from each country will vie for the title crown - 'PRAVASI PRATHIBHA PURASKARAM'.
  • The criteria for selection from the above said categories will be as follows:

  • a) BUSINESS


    BUSINESS - Large Scale: An owner of any business establishment, with a minimum capital investment of $25 Million, employs at least 100 persons and generating Annual revenue of US $ 100 Million (One Hundred Million US Dollars) or more, who believes in Corporate Social Responsibilities.

    BUSINESS - Medium Scale: An owner of any business establishment, with a minimum capital investment of $10 Million, employs at least 50 persons and generating Annual revenue of US $ 50 Million (Fifty Million US Dollars) or more, who believes in Corporate Social Responsibilities.

    BUSINESS - Small Scale: An Owner of any business establishment employs at least 10 persons and generating Annual Revenue up to US $ 50 Million, who believes in Corporate Social Responsibilities.

    b) SOCIAL SERVICE

    Those individuals who have made significant contribution to the welfare of Non-Resident Keralites Diaspora in their respective country of residence and back home, with notable contribution in philanthropic and charitable work for social and humanitarian causes to the needy, as an individual or part of any such organization.

    c) EDUCATIONISTS (Entrepreneurs/Teachers)

    Individuals who have made a significant contribution in the field of Education as an Entrepreneur or Teacher, with remarkable achievements or initiatives for the betterment of the system of education and students.

    d) HEALTHCARE PROFESSIONALS (Entrepreneurs/Doctors/Nurses)

    Individuals in the field of healthcare, who outperformed others with dedication and commitment, living up to the plain and unequivocal laws of patient care and adapting new methods in the treatment of patients.

    e) LITERATURE (various streams)

    Individuals engaged in any stream of literature, who are creative and experimental, with outstanding titles to their credit and preferably committed to the upliftment of our mother tongue - Malayalam.

    f) MEDIA (Print, Visual/Audio/Web)

    Individuals who have got distinguishable achievements or published material to his/her credit, which could instigate reforms or movements in the society.

    g) BANKING/FINANCE/INSURANCE PROFESSIONALS

    Individuals with notable performance in their respective field of operation who are instrumental in devising new methods or approaches for the betterment of the industry and society.

    h) INVENTORS

    Individuals who have invented anything new in the field of science, which could be of help to mankind.

    i) NEW INITIATIVES

    Individuals who have brought in new ideas or techniques in any field, like agriculture, transportation or any discipline other than those mentioned above.

  • The final selection of the Award Winners will be done by a Jury, consisting of noted personalities, which will be decided by the Organizers from time to time.
  • The Organizers and the Jury do have the right to amend the formalities for selection and confer the Awards in each category, which will be final and binding.
  • The Awards will be presented at a formal function being held in Kerala, in the form of a Citation.
  • The Awards shall not be given posthumously except in any rare case of the Winner passing away after the announcement and before the presentation of the Awards.
  • The Organizers and the Jury may cancel and annul an Award in the event of any adverse revelation regarding the Awardees of any false information coming to light subsequently.
  • In the wake of any litigation arising under this agreement, jurisdiction, over the dispute and the location of the forum/tribunal will be in Cochin, Kerala, India.
